The Government website is the Portuguese Government’s official electronic communication channel. The aim is to disclose the Prime Minister’s, Ministers’ and Secretaries of Sates’ activities through news pieces that follow the rules of journalism, videos, and photographs.

The website is incorporated in the International Relations and Communication Department of the Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, according to Ordinance 395/2019 of 13 November.

The Government website is organised into Government areas whose presentation follows the Government’s protocol order structure. In each of these areas, you will find news items, announcements, speeches, and other documents. The homepage has news highlights of the various areas, with a focus on current affairs, public interest, and diversity of subjects.

There are also banners on the top and sides with links to news items or other relevant website, following the same criteria as that for the highlighted news. The website also contains an area exclusively dedicated to multimedia content, namely photos and videos.
